Every Tiegent tie begins with an idea — a shape, a texture, a mood. Our design process starts with sketches, inspired by classic menswear, heritage patterns, and the refined lifestyle of the modern gentleman.
We handpick luxurious fabrics from trusted mills in Italy and beyond, selecting only the finest silks, linens, and wool blends. Each roll of fabric is carefully inspected for feel, drape, and depth of color.
Once selected, the fabric is hand-cut at just the right bias to ensure the perfect knot and natural movement. Our artisans then construct each tie in small batches, carefully aligning patterns and stitching by hand with precision and care. The interlining — the hidden heart of the tie — is matched to the fabric’s weight to maintain balance, body, and elegance.
Every tie is then pressed, folded, and finished with hand-sewn bar tacks and slip stitches that allow the tie to return to shape after each wear. The finishing touch? A subtle signature — the mark of a true craftsman.
We don't mass produce. We compose. And when you wear a Tiegent tie, you're not just dressing well — you're wearing tradition, intention, and timeless taste.

The Tie Guide
Everything You Need to Know
Helpful answers to common questions
Choosing the Perfect Tie
1. Choose the Right Width
The width of your tie should complement your body frame and suit style:
-
Slim ties (5–6.5 cm) – Best for slimmer builds and modern or slim-fit suits. Great for a contemporary look.
-
Classic ties (7–8.5 cm) – Timeless and versatile. Ideal for most men and traditional business/formal attire.
-
Wide ties (9 cm+) – For broader frames or vintage-inspired outfits. Bold and powerful.
Not sure? A 7.5 cm tie is the classic, safe choice that works with most outfits.
2. Pick the Right Length
Your tie should end at or just above your belt buckle.
-
Standard length (148–150 cm) – Suitable for most men up to 6'2" (188 cm).
-
Extra-long ties – Needed for taller men or larger neck sizes. (Currently not available)
To ensure a proper fit, consider your height, neck size, and preferred tie knot.
3. Select the Best Fabric
-
Silk – Smooth, elegant, and luxurious. Works well for business, weddings, and formal wear.
-
Wool / Cashmere – Rich in texture and perfect for fall/winter or more casual outfits.
-
Linen / Cotton – Light and breathable. Best for summer or relaxed looks.
-
Knitted Ties – Textured and stylish. A smart-casual favorite.
4. Match the Occasion
Event | Suggested Tie Style |
---|---|
Wedding | Floral / Textured silk |
Business | Solid / Striped silk |
Formal Gala | Dark silk / Glossy |
Casual | Knitted / Wool |
Choose a tie that suits the mood of your event while expressing your personality.
5. Tie Knot Tips
The knot changes the character of your look:
-
Four-in-Hand – Simple, slightly asymmetrical, everyday knot.
-
Half-Windsor – Balanced and versatile. Great for work and events.
-
Full Windsor – Wide and formal. Ideal for spread-collar shirts and special occasions.
The thicker the fabric, the simpler the knot you should use.
6. Coordinate with Your Outfit
-
Solid shirts → Go with patterned ties (stripes, florals, paisley).
-
Patterned shirts → Choose subtle or solid ties.
-
Neutral suits → Add a pop of color or bold print.
-
Bright shirts or suits → Keep the tie more muted.
Keep balance in mind. The tie should stand out — but not overwhelm.
Final Tip:
A tie is more than an accessory — it’s a statement. Choose one that feels like you: sharp, confident, and distinct.
