Care & Washing

Silk Ties

  • Never machine wash or tumble dry.

  • Spot clean with a soft damp cloth. Avoid rubbing.

  • For persistent stains, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

  • Avoid contact with water, perfume, or direct sunlight to prevent color fading.

  • Store rolled in a drawer or hung on a tie rack to maintain shape.

Wool or Wool Blend Ties

  • Avoid water and high heat.

  • Spot clean gently with a cloth, or dry clean only.

  • Do not iron directly — use a steamer or place cloth between tie and iron.

  • Store flat or rolled to prevent creases.

Cotton Ties

  • Can be gently hand washed in cold water with mild detergent.

  • Do not wring or twist — gently press between towels to remove excess water.

  • Lay flat to dry; reshape while damp.

  • Light ironing is safe on low heat.

Polyester or Microfiber Ties

  • Can usually be hand washed or dry cleaned.

  • Blot stains quickly with water and mild soap.

  • Avoid high heat when ironing; use low-temperature steam.

  • These are more durable and travel-friendly.

General Storage Tips:

  • Roll or hang your ties — don’t fold.

  • Keep ties away from moisture, dust, and direct sunlight.

  • When traveling, use a tie case or roll gently into a sock to avoid crushing.
